I don’t believe corporations are people.
I do believe people are people. And I help brands have relationships with them.
While doing this I’ve been lucky to encounter the albino alligator of marketing: working on brands
I love at agencies I love, namely DDB, Y&R Chicago and MatchMG.
Call it planned luck. I’ve always sought out others who believe in putting humans first — in the brief and in the work.
My first big assignment for Y&R was to help pitch and win back all Sears brand work including Craftsman, Kenmore and Diehard. We did it by remembering something Sears had forgotten: its customers. We went on to produce Cannes-winning integrated media and radio plus Cannes shortlisted TV.
Not long after, I represented Y&R North America in the global pitch for Bacardi, working with RKCR/Y&R London as one of two creative leads. We won that, too.
At DDB I pitched and won Energizer, Van Kampen Funds, Jones Lang Lasalle, and the Purina global business, once again, working out of London and New York.
More recently I helped lead Y&R Chicago’s wins of Famous Footwear, Hampton Hotels, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Butterball and Danze. I was also instrumental in the pitch that
landed Y&R's largest current account, BMO Harris Bank.
And at MatchMG I helped stabilize the agency's flagship Kimberly-Clark
brands while winning and grooming Chamberlain smart home products
to become the agency's second largest account.
In each case, we helped clients win with humanity. And share the
excitement of uncovering a great insight with the power to get hearts
beating. I'm addicted to this.

I used to work in a green house growing tomatoes.
Then I drove forklifts.
Next, I did contract work using acetylene torches to cut apart discarded factory equipment.
Then I operated an extruder in a plastic molding factory.
After that I worked in a print shop running paper folders, paper cutters and paper collating machines.
